Iowa County Humane Society Press Release 8-29-08

The public response that ICHS has been receiving since the news of its financial crisis has been overwhelming and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has called, donated or given of their time. The Board of Directors was very encouraged by the turn out of over 100 people at the public meeting Thursday night as well as by the ideas and help which was offered. The public has made it very clear that they do want a humane society in Iowa County. The board will be meeting within the next week to review what they have heard. ICHS still needs financial help and a larger volunteer base. Anyone interested in donating or helping should contact us at (608) 935-1381 or via e-mail at ichs@mhtc.net.

Dear Neighbor:
I am one of the lucky animals to be adopted here in Iowa County. I used to be a stray in Dodgeville, but the good people at the Iowa County Humane Society (ICHS) gave me a shelter. Few months later, volunteers Theresa and George from Town of Brigham, took me home and my life is wonderful ever since.

The ICHS is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The fight, even after so many years, to keep its door open from day to day is real. The main source of operating funds come from the public, sometimes far away. The society depends on volunteers and a skeleton paid staff.

I wish to appeal to you to contribute, whatever amount you can afford and your good heart allows. Please write a check to Iowa County Humane Society, 3207 Bennett Rd. Dodgeville, WI. 53533.
