I just wanted to let you know that Harbor is a wonderful
dog! The girls have renamed him Lucky. He is having a great time playing
with the girls, going for walks, and meeting the other dogs and kids in
the neighborhood. He is very well-behaved. We're feeding him Iams puppy
food to put a little weight on him (per the vets recommendation). He doesn't
seem to know what toys are, which is really funny. He has learned how to
walk up and down steps and is getting better with the slippery kitchen
floor. He really attached himself to me -- follows me everywhere I go --
very cute. Thank you for such a great family pet! -Peg |
My name was Chewey, and I was adopted on November
15th. I m so lucky to have spent time at ICHS. Because of them I have now
found a happy home. My new name is Rookie. My new house is on a lake, with
lots of room to roam. I love to go for walks with my new parents. And I
m starting to learn my boundaries. My parents are really patient with me,
because sometimes I forget where the boundaries are (oops).
I want to thank all the nice people at ICHS. I m sorry if I was difficult at times. The vet here says that I probably didn't eat very well while I was in the shelter, but since I've moved I've started to eat really well. I like my new place. Say hi to all the doggies there at ICHS. I miss you guys. |
Dezi has become a wonderful addition to our family, and she has adjusted well to our household. The cats like her, and she likes them as well. Our kids think she is the greatest, and show her the love and affection that she deserves. This afternoon we took her to see our vet, and get her rabies shot. The vet did find a severe ear infection, but we figured that out prior to our appointment. She is now getting treated for that and will be fine shortly. She has no other problems that were detected, and it appears that our original guess that she was once with another family were correct. The vet agrees that she is to well behaved to have been a stray her whole life, but the possibility of abuse was likely. We also noticed that every time we called our son Devon, she would come to us. So we tried a couple of other D names, and when we said Dezi she came running. We are glad that she feels comfortable in our home, and rest assured she will get all of the love and warmth our family can provide. On behalf of my family we would like to thank you all for your kind and noble work you do to save wonderful animals, and put them with families that will love and care for them. Thank you again, and we hope you have a happy holiday. |

Hi everyone!! Life is good at my new home...Bones and lots of couch space! And I'm getting really good at frisbee! There's even a pond at my new place...can you believe it?!? Long walks and some cows to bark at across the way. Sometimes I even play with the cats!

11-22-02 To My Friends at ICHS-Just wanted to thank you for taking me in last March. I like my new home-the food is good and I get lots of love. My new Mom said I needed better social skills so I went to school last summer. It was fun-here's my graduation picture. Love, Sadie & (me-Clover) |
Hey Everybody at ICHS, My name is Misty and I'm
writing to you to let you know how I am in my new home. I love my new home
I get whatever I want whenever I want! I have 3 kids to play with, and
a new neighbor who's a German Shepherd. I can do some tricks. I have a
farm to run on and a cat to tease. I'm still a bit afraid of the Pot-Bellied
Pig, but I'm getting used to her. I have my own bed to sleep in, but I
prefer my mom's bed. She likes me in my own bed because all I do is bug
her by making her pet me all night! I love my mom and dad the most because
the kids are just too much for me. I want to thank you guys at the shelter
for taking such good care of me when I was there! Sincerely, -Misty
Hi Everyone at ICHS we are very pleased with our little dog that we adopted in August 2002. She's a little mouthy sometimes but we love her anyways! The Laufenberg Family |
Hello!
I just wanted to say Thank You to all of you at the Iowa County Humane
Society. I adopted Rusty and we are very happy. Rusty is a sweet, gentle,
loving dog. He is my second "baby", my first is a poodle named
Roxi. The two of them play all day until they can't keep their eyes open
any longer. They even play tug-o-war with the plush toys when they're not
in the mood for sharing. Keep up the good work.Love, Sarah & Rusty ;) |
Dear ICHS,
I'm just dropping you a line to let you know how Chief is doing. My family
adopted him on June 25th. You probably remember him from his many visits
to your shelter. Chief has settled into our home like he's always been
here. His favorite place to be is on the back of the couch so he can
see out the windows. He loves to go for walks and he goes everyday. (usually
1-2 miles a day) He has new toys which he loves to carry around the house
with him. Chief follows me everywhere, even to the bathroom!! Needless
to say he's very happy and loves us all. My family would like to say
thanks and let you know he as found his "Forever Home". I would
bring him for visit but he gets carsick! Thanks Again, Jenifer & Family |
Percy was just
a little puppy when adopted from ICHS. He was found wandering along a
busy highway at about 3 months of age at the time. A kind soul
picked him up and brought him to the shelter. We couldn't quite figure
out what he was, or was going to be, because of his strange wiry coat.
He's grown up quite a bit since then and stopped by to see how we were
all doing at ICHS. He sure looks happy, and we were glad to see
him again. |
